Postgraduate community event funding

The VUW PGSA can help to fund your event for postgraduates! Eligible events include workshops, trips, visits, outings and activities of all kinds, just as long as one of their primary aims is to foster community and build engagement among the postgraduate community at Te Herenga Waka/the Victoria University of Wellington.

Grants for events are for actual costs only and are for a maximum of NZD 500.00. An itemized list of expenses to be funded is required.

Events must be targeted at postgraduates, but can include undergraduates and non-students, as long as it is a reasonable expectation that postgraduates will be the majority of attendees. This expectation must be judged through both the nature of the event and how it is promoted.

Events must be targeted at postgraduates at Te Herenga Waka/the Victoria University of Wellington, but the inclusion of postgraduates at Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa/Massey University, Ōtākou Whakaihu Waka/the University of Otago and all other universities is very welcome, as long as it is a reasonable expectation that Vic postgraduates will be the largest group of attendees. This expectation must be judged through both the nature of the event and how it is promoted.

Grant applicants must be members of the VUW PGSA and must be the organizers of the event. Not currently a VUW PGSA member? No problem, if you’re a Vic postgraduate you can join! Just click on the big green button on the homepage to fill in the brief membership form.
