Annual General Meeting (AGM)

  • PGSA Room 203, Student Union Building, Gate 1, Kelburn Parade Wellington, Wellington, 6012 New Zealand (map)

The AGM is an open meeting, and all PGSA members are welcome to attend. Join us for a chance to share your thoughts and opinions, and give the postgraduate community a voice.

What happens at the AGM:

  • The PGSA will present a report on any developments since this year's Initial General Meeting (IGM).

  • Any special resolutions (such as proposed changes to the PGSA constitution) may also be moved.

  • PGSA members can vote on motions and raise any other business.

  • The new Executive Team will be elected

  • Refreshments will be provided.

Members who are unable to attend the AGM can accept reports and/or motions using the Proxy Votes to be counted towards the quorum (a proxy voting form will be sent out closer to the time)

If you would like to propose a motion at the AGM, please send your motion to pgsa@vuw.ac.nz by 5pm Tuesday the 22nd August

Join the PGSA Exec:

Every year at PGSA's Annual General Meeting (AGM), we elect the new PGSA Executive for the coming year.  As always, we hope to see a mix of current incumbents and new candidates running for these positions! This is a great way to get involved in and make a difference to the postgraduate community at VUW!

The nomination and election process:

We are calling for nominations now to give our members the opportunity to vote online before the AGM. Nominations are due by 5pm on Tuesday 29th August. You can nominate yourself using this form (please get in touch if you are unable to access it).

Please find full job descriptions of each executive role available on our website (click here)

If we have no nominations for a role or do not have candidates to fill all positions, we may accept late nominations, and if necessary will open nominations to members present at the AGM. All Executive positions are subject to election at the AGM, and all present Executive Members are required to re-nominate themselves at this time.

Please note, as per our constitution, the role of President is only open to nominations from PGSA members who have been on the Executive for 6 months or more.

We hope you will consider running for an Executive position to join our team. Please reply to this email if you have any questions about any of the roles or the election process. We require a quorum at the AGM or by proxy vote to elect the Executive, so please make every effort to attend!
